[This is something that has been bothering Rapunzel. She doesn't even give a preamble to this post, she just bursts out with it.]

What...what is wrong with all of you?!

All...all you want to do is fight and hurt each other!

[She doesn't understand this. She's seen more violence and fighting and injury in the past week than she has in the past few months. NEW PEOPLE STOP HURTING EACH OTHER K]

Why?! I...I don't understand...

[She slams the book shut, and leaves her room and heads towards the Bower. It's the only place where she feels like...things are normal. Feel free to run into her there.]

[A pause.]

...Should I bring anything?

Yes!

You can't swim in your clothes.

[Rapunzel has such pretty clothes. They'll be ruined! Not to mention, hard to swim in. And Kairi does plan on getting her to swim.]

You'll need spare clothes. A short chemise and an old bodice, I suppose.

Okay! I can do that!

[She has to take a moment to get that together, and braid her hair, but she can do it!]

I'll...see you there in a few minutes, then?

[She's excited about this!]

Sure! I'm near the boat house.

[And just as she says, she's waiting there about calf deep in the lake, prodding at the weedy shore with a toe. It's so different to a beach.]

[Rapunzel shows up a few minutes later, dressed in the appropriate clothing that KAiri had requested. It feels a bit odd, but she supposed that it would be necessary for this swimming thing she'd talked about.

She waved frantically as she approached, smiling broadly.]

Hey!

[Kairi returns the wave as she looks up.]

Are you ready?

[And without waiting for a reply, she turns and begins running through the shallows, ignoring the weeds and whatever else lies on the shore.

Once the water reaches her thighs, she can't run any more. But by then, the weed has dropped away from the surface and Kairi dives, flips over onto her back and grins back at Rapunzel.]

[Rapunzel hesitates only briefly before she lightly steps into the water. She'd...done this once, briefly - but it had only been for a few seconds and she hadn't gotten to truly revel in it like she can now.

It felt amazing - and she dug her feet in and giggled before running right after Kairi. She doesn't care about the weeds or...who knows what, she just dives right in, determined to have fun and try something new.]

[Kairi swims out a little further and paddles around, waiting for her. She doesn't want to move out of Rapunzel's depth and she's not really sure how steeply the lake bed falls away.]

So, you've never don't this before?

[She wades a little further, then shakes her head with wide eyes.]

N-no...never!

[But...it's fun and she likes it. A lot. Why hadn't her mother at least let her swim right outside the tower...there was a little stream...she could have at least just put her feet in...]

[That seems more than a little bit strange to Kairi. But then it hits her and she looks up, certain that she's guessed.]

Weren't there any lakes or oceans near where you lived?
